| I'm here in Singapore for about a month to prepare for our wedding. Though I've been here before, it never has been for this long. I feel like I should make this country sort of a "home" but don't have that "home" feeling. What makes a place feel like home? I guess maybe a sense of independence. Right now I still rely on others to get around and to buy things. Sometimes having people around to help can inadvertently cause adjusting to a new place take longer. Maybe I should take a day and just go out and get lost =)
Also, though it's Christmas eve, it's hot! Wearing shorts and perspiring doesn't seem like a white Christmas to me =) Also, Christmas here isn't as big a family gathering as back in the states. Something else for me to get use to.
Merry Christmas!

| A video of a few of our friends playing DDR. It's a great game to play because you don't need to know English to play, it's appealing to both guys/girls, and 2 (or more as you can see from the video) can play at once

| Some of you may have heard of the milk "scare" here. A chemical called Melamine was found in a quite a few milk products. A number of babies have died from it. This has not only effected milk, but yogurt and ice cream. I've been staying away from as many milk products as I can. I haven't heard anything about butter (so many things are made with butter!) being bad but who knows...
It's sad to hear how this has caused deaths and it does frighten me a bit when I put anything in my mouth now to eat or drink, wondering if this item will be next on the news....

| When I was in Australia I discovered this fast food restaurant that looked a lot like Burger King....but had the name "Hungry Jacks". I later learned that in Australia someone/some business had long ago copyrighted the name Burger King so when the real Burger King came into town they had to use a different name. Bizarre.
